Yeah, I'm talking to you.

I want you to know
that I want you to know nothing.
Still, I want you to know
what I mean when I say fireflies.
I want you to know
that I’d like to be enigmatic and confusing.
I want you to know
that I want you to be curious anyway.
I want you to know
that I’d like to spill my secrets. But I won’t.
I want you to know
not quite enough to make anything more than guesses.
I want you to know
that I’d like you to be mystified.
I want you to know
that I don’t expect anyone to give a damn.
But I want you to know
that I want you to be curious anyway.
I want you to know
that I’d like to be asked questions.
I want you to know
that I probably wouldn’t answer them anyway.
I want you to know
that the lights come on when you guess right.
I want you to know
that I hope you apply the words to yourselves.
I want you to know
that I wonder if you sympathize or empathize.
I want you to know
that I wonder if poetry is as revealing as I think it is.
I want you to know
that words are nothing unless someone reads them.
I want you to know
that I want you to know nothing.
And I want you to know
that I want you to be curious anyway.
