July 2007 Made during my metals and jewelry class at the Summer High School Program at Snow Farm. This is my second hinged piece, and it was a million times easier than the first one. It was supposed to be part of a larger conceptual deal, but I burned out with the motivation, so it's just a moth. Without legs, no less. The wings are a little crooked (which is why this wasn't shot from above), but as one of my friends said, "Mare, maybe the wings are crooked 'cause you're not straight." True story. Etched copper, formed silver, and flattened copper wire. |
