November 2006 Village Children is the story I wrote for NaNoWriMo in 2006. I was feeling like a quasi-fantasy book about avoiding war rather than engaging in it would be a good idea. We were reading Faukner's As I Lay Dying in English at the time, which was the inspiration for writing it as a series of monologues from the points of view of the involved characters. The first half is rather different from the second half, and I'm pretty sure I like it better. |
